Just tuned in to Challenge TV to find this on! Great stuff! When did they start showing it?

Shame it's not from the mullet era though!

Being a kid who grew up in the 1990's (I'm 22 now lol), Fun House was just typical of feel good Children's TV with an equally as enthusiastic presenter.

I have been watching the reruns on Challenge TV and I have to admit that in today's day and age whenever you've had a hard day at work, it still gives you a feel good factor for half an hour or so.

I know Pat Sharp has been saying this week that there are plans to maybe bring back Adult Fun House for the 2000's, so he hopes that the reruns on Challenge may enccourage one of the production companies to pick up the idea. I'd certainly welcome that - if it did come back, but I think that the worry is some of the recent "comebacks" have been more successful than others and it would spoil it, if the "new" Fun House didn't have the same feel good factor as the 1990's version did.

I believe the stv still owns this ( and also owns the UK rights to wheel of fortunes) if there need a studio there would just go next door to BBC scotland studio 1

And where has Pat Sharp said this?

From http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a166513/ds-icon-pat-sharp.html:

So it's true that you're working on an adult version of the show?
"A lot of people have read about it but no TV companies have taken it up. Challenge TV have just bought four series of the old show, which are running randomly at weekends, so that might generate some interest, and maybe someone will take a gamble on us. I don't know quite how the show would work, but I've suggested that it could make great Saturday night entertainment, in the style of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. It would hopefully be a grown-up version of what we did all those years ago and it could be brought up to date by the production companies."

From http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/we-love-telly/2009/07/we-love-funhouse.html:

What are the chances of a Funhouse revival Pat?
" Why not? The thing is though obviously you've got to convince the TV companies to go along with it. It was quite an expensive show to make at the time, and these days television shows aren't having a lot of money pumped into them. There are cheaper ways to make television now like reality shows. And who knows whether Funhouse will work again? Maybe it's had its time. I think if they re- made Faulty Towers again it probably wouldn't be very good. - But I'm not knocking it!"
...
"We're not talking a horrible dirty porn version or anything! It would be good clean family fun. It would have to be adapted; we were throwing wet sponges and things back then which is all a bit 'whatever'... We'd have to make it a bit more 2009. It would have to be adapted for today, so it'd have to be a bit cleverer, to have more thought in it. Now people would go 'well that's a bit rubbish', but you know it's got to move forwards."

So, in summary: It just ain't gonna happen, folks.

Pat was toying with the idea back in 2007. It's nice to see people are still considering it.

I'm pretty sure they have at least two. Thursday's episode was a Christmas special and then Friday's had different graphics and the twins had different hair so I think it's a different series.

Edit : The information is on Challenge's site.

Can't believe I've been missing this!! Will try and catch an episode next time, will be a major nostalgia rush.

Saying that, if they're on Series 9 right now, that must be about...1997? So not the classic era I'd remember the most but hopefully still with the go-kart round and all the other recognisable stuff.

Talking of old CITV shows back on screen, I see that Bernard's Watch has made a reappearance on the CITV channel. Unusual on ITV's behalf but a very nice decision in my opinion... lots of memories.
