Fun and games at YTV

Last night before The Bill, apparently we were watching Border, despite a TTTV ident being shown. Tonight before a filler programme into the local news, we'd suddenly become Granada.

What a bunch of incompetents they are down there in Leeds. Although cockups do seem to increase exponentially when they are about to change something. What is it this time, I wonder? Anglia and Meridian to join the Leeds centre? I hope not, for the sake of everyone in the East and South...

That would be fun, especially as Meridian does the continuity for HTV Wales and HTV West.

(Yes, I know, Meridian's Granada and HTV's Carlton, but when did LOGIC ever prevail at ITV?)

Let's hope Anglia and Meridian keep their continuity departments, so that they won't have to suffer the low quality continuity that we are subjected to in the North of England.

HTV Wales is done from Cardiff IIRC, as is Westcountry. HTV West is done from Southampton as you rightly say.

I notice they aren't bothering with regional announcements tonight. Good job I'm watching UTV, thank goodness for Sky I'm watching some continuity as it should be.

I hope Anglia and Meridian stay as they are, they are still fairly regional in my opinion as Southampton seems to work far better than Leeds for whatever reasons. And what would be the point in spending money Granada don`t have in changing something thats working

You are all saying 'Don't give Anglia and Meridian to Leeds' but it's not unusual you should hear a 'Tonight at 8 on HTV' on an Anglia ident or even see a full blown HTV ident (no joke) on Anglia.

This is what happens when you try to cut costs and merge continuity.

If you like Carlton for nothing else, it's got to be for their continuity. Regional departments still exist and they have the best idents of the ITV1 network. You've got to admit, they are the only ones that haven't completely ruined continuity.
Apart from if you a person that think Central and Westcountry should have remained.

There is no doubt that Carlton has the best idents, it's just the CARLTON name that isn't imaginative!

I have never seen a continuity or trailer cock-up on Granada in the NW, the only one which was a bit of a cock-up was when we got Tyne Tees Weather instead of Granada Weather. But I presume we got this because the Granada Weatehr was unavalible.

Probably because Granada is the prime region from Leeds. The othere GMG North regions get the problem all the time.

Personally I'd rather have one ITV station rather than the junk we get at the moment.

Border had a kind of regional announcement this afternoon before TV Guide To Life done by one of their newsreaders though I may be wrong about this. The only cock ups i`ve seen on YTV are playing the Granada ident by mistake

YTV do seem to get less cockups than TTTV or Border.

They seem to have a 'small stations don't matter so much' attitude in Leeds which, quite frankly, I find rather offensive, as it implies that I don't mean as much to them as a viewer than a YTV or in particular Granada viewer!
