If anyone remembers last week, there wer sound problems in which the digital output of Channel 4 during the FNP was affected, which a couple of green flashes, and eventually, everything was ok.

This week, was it just me or did the first two parts have muffled sound? It was only noticable completely during the crowd's cheers. If it wasn't just me, what might have caused it?

Don't know about the sound but it seems to me there's been a lot of last minute editing on the last few shows. Its not really that noticeable though.

Here's a video of the sound problems, the video even went green for a brief 2 seconds.

Is the show even recored on Friday? I remember at the end of one show a few weeks back we just saw black/green and then a Channel 4 slide for BB's website for 30secs until the show finished!

It's recorded on Thursday nights (as most Friday night shows are).

Yes, it's recorded on Thursday most weeks, but this week someone told me it was recorded on Tuesday due to Rupert Everett's schedule

Yeah, that's exactly what happened last week - full of problems.
If there are problems occuring next week I will be concerned...

Yeh I noticed it was muffled, thought it would be fixed as time went on, but evidentially it wasn't. Was very Annoying.

The Friday Night Project is recorded on Thursday nights at around 6pm in Studio 1 (or sometimes Studio 2 if Studio 1 is busy) in the London Studios.

There are around 4-6 different variations recorded on the night of the opening monologue and the Friday Night News to ensure that the show remains topical eg.g what's been happening on Big Brother, or if there has been a suprise eviction etc, that is why sometimes bits of the show might look edited differently.

I never know why they just don't do the show live. Maybe its beacuse Studio 1 and 2 are not avaiable for them to use? Does anyone know?

Well Studio 1 is less readily available, but really if FNP books it then even Ant & Dec can't really come in and take over! Studio 2's often empty on a Friday. Maybe it's the same reason Jonathan Ross is recorded a day before - while keeping things somewhat topical, the actual record can be much longer than the show to ensure a lot of content can be taken into the edit.

Also, shock horror, many guests refuse to do Friday nights.

I'm still convinced John Barrowman and Andi Peters have a "thing" for eachother. Wink
