I've seen him live... he is NOT funny. He is even less funny on the television.
Why Channel 4 keep allowing him on television is beyond me.
Obviously, comedy is dependent on a persons sense of humour, but having seen him live, he's fantastic! Very quick witted, hence his ability to interact with an audience, something that not many comics can do that fast.
Could have ......... would have been a good programme if it hadn't included Vinny Jones and his blatant advertising of Greyhound Racing. Anyone thinking I'm being a little bit over sensitive go have a look at www.greyhoundaction.co.uk
I know a large part of Ch4's airtime is taken up with horse racing, which isn't any better, but that I can avoid due to it being pre advertised.
I'd be interested to hear any reaction from viewers or programme consultants.
OK I have cats too. Doesn't stop me caring about other animals though.
I'm not a sensationalist, I work as a volunteer in Greyhound Rescue and it's an uphill struggle trying to find homes for a small percentage of the "cast off" Greyhounds.
I, and many others like myself, spend our lives trying to raise awareness of the carnage that Greyhound racing creates. As shown in the programme tonight it's still promoted as a fun/harmless activity and a good night out. Did you check out the web address?
I think Jimmy Carr is very funny but the programme lost all its attraction for me once I realised Vinnie Jones had a starring role. The publicity for greyhound racing, which presented the sport as a good night out, completely hiding the very negative side of greyhound racing, just made me feel rather sick. Making light of such a dreadful situation for dogs isn't what I would class as good Friday night entertainment.
A huge shame, I was really looking forward to watching the programme. I gather that Vinnie's appearance was a one off though(?) so will be thankful for that at least.
I enjoyed it, very funny, although it did seem a little too wooden, but I feel that it needs to be given a chance to get on its own two feet, hopefully after a few weeks the show will get better once everyone (and the people in the show) get used to it.
I actually think Jimmy Carr is great (not much to look at) but his comedy is VERY funny.
My fav line from Top 100 Greatest Pop Videos was concerning Nirvana and he said something along the lines of, "Kurt Cobain shouldn't go around shooting his mouth off..." It was in poor taste but such a great line that I had to laugh.
He was also great presenting C4's Distraction.
PS Has anyone else noticed how five are reeling out similar Top 100 programmes now? And more bizzarly EVERY one so far has managed to feature Rebbecca Loos pleasuring that pig. (including tonight's!!!)
