What a lot is happening... if there are any pres fans left here, some things of note:

- Friday morning it's the last RI:SE - if anyone still cares.
- Friday afternoon, it's the last ever 15-To-1, a true TV institution ending after 15 years.
- Also Friday afternoon, it's the last Newsround of the year, so it's the annual alphabetical credits list. I realise I am very sad for knowing and/or caring about this.
- Friday night (well, Saturday morning), it's the last Learning Zone with the current ident/graphics/stuff.
- If C4 are launching their new look straight after new year, then the Sport ident will be used for the last time on Saturday morning, and the kids' idents for the last time on Sunday. That's a big if.

That's quite a momentous Friday looming then !

I'm quite sorry to see 15 to 1 go, though it probably has run it's course. I still think C4 have completely ruined their afternoon schedule by moving Countdown and putting Lifestyle crap in it's true place. AIUI, it's lost 1/3 of it's audience as a result. C4 Listen Up!

Didn't know that Newsround do an alphabetical credit crawler at the end of the year - what do they do exactly? Credit everyone that's worked on the show for the whole year?!

It is a shame to see Fifteen To One go, but it has had it's day, but I would rather see that than another lifestyle or home show, like the ones which have taken Countdown's slot. Though no matter how many complaints there are I don't think that Channel 4 are going to move it back to 4.15pm, as they're happy with the ratings for 3.15pm, even though they're only 800,000, but apparently it has recently been recomissioned until 2006 so it won't be disappearing right now. But I think they axed Fifteen To One sometime last year so they have completed it now, but the prizes were never good, the best they gave away was a vase. Though I think Countdown's 5.15am slot is safe for now for all you insomniacs.

Though a big day for Channel 4, last RI:SE, last 15 To 1, last in the current series of Countdown, last V Graham Norton and I assume that Will and Grace has come to the end of it's run as Friends I assume will be occupying the 9.00pm from January and I think it's also the last News At Noon of the year as it isn't scheduled from Monday the 22nd. Though we'll probably get a new slot from January with the new Breakfast programmes, a new show at 2.45pm or a film or racing and the 10.00pm will remain free for the forseeable future.

Don't the newsround alphabetical credits usually run at the end of the newsround review of the year show that is usually shown between christmas & new year.

We're just over halfway through the third series of Will & Grace so it's double episodes into January and the new series of Friends will start following that.

US networks spread their big shows out from October through to May. With only 18 episodes in the final series of Friends there are lots of gaps between new episodes (filled with repeats). The most recent episode of Friends aired at the end of November and the next one isn't airing until January. Channel 4 need to wait until they have 18 weeks in a row to air the final series, or else we'd also have to put up with gaps between new episodes

It's a tragedy. I applied for 15 to 1 at the beginning of the year but then wasn't able to go on, so had to pull out. I was going to go again this year, but now that'll never happen.

There's no other quiz like it.

So what's happening on Rise this morning?

Nothing major happened - just lots of jokes about losing jobs, and general breaks from the script. They popped up in the glass behind Zora during the last news, and she said stuff like "Now the weather for today and the rest of my life..." They rubbed the stuff that makes actors cry in their eyes in the last few minutes, then ended with everyone laying on top of each other.

Well I for one enjoyed RI:SE, and am sad to see it go really. It made me laugh in the morning, and I don't think the alternatives will do. GMTV drives me absolutely nuts, BBC Breakfast the same. Shame.

The tear stick moment on RI:SE was hilarious. I don't know what Kate & Iain were expecting, but that stuff's like putting pepper in your eyes. It left them blind for the rest of the show.

But as for it being the last show, it was a bit of a non event. They scrolled credits across the screen for the first time, and Kate attempted to start at pile up, of which about four people took part.

So, one down, how many more to go?

I must say the prospect of being on top of Kate and under Zora doesn't disagree with me.
