Didn't they trial it on Sunday lunchtimes under a different name, and it got slated by the press?
That was a different show - The Morning After Show - with Simon Astell. It wasn't bad actually!
The "Morning Glory" that made it to screen was hosted by Dermot O'Leary and partnered with BBLB in January, but it was swiftly axed.
C4 had been planning on airing a new breakfast show after Freshly Squeezed from 7.30am, with "No Strings Attached" - a puppet presented breakfast show, reported to be amongst the favourites for the slot.
However, C4 dropped the idea blaming a lack of funding - although I suspect the real reason is that it would be one less episode of Friends a day!

Why?
The idea is it's something different!
Notice on Media Guardian the makers of the axed puppet breakfast show having a bit of a moan at C4 for ditching it due to "financial reasons". They said it had been commissioned and given a start date before C4 did a U-turn!
Another breakfast pilot - an "interactive" comedy show, is being turned into a primetime format for the station!
Also on the E4 Music front I notice towards the end of next week C4 are also screening "Nothing but..." programmes at 8.55am.
