Is that not extremely pointless though? Would you be happy if you had to go to a different EPG number for BBC1 depending on what time of day it is?
No I would not be happy, but its hardly a big deal having 2 epg numbers. In the morning folk have it on channel 25 lets say, and then by the time the average person gets home after 6, flick about a bit, see that 25 is blank and put 26 on. Just like Ftn and UK Bi. Folk might have BI on in the morning, then in the evening after 6, see BI is blank and put ftn on (Maybe).
Anyway, anyway, anyway, this channel could be 24 hours; it could be 12 with something else at night, who knows. Just as long as TV Travel shop 2 or something silly does not come, then one is happy having DTT on a second and third Telly in the house. Anyway, as long as my DSAT works, DTT is just a backup for me.

OK, if you're near Southampton you are probably receiving signals from the Rowridge transmitter on the Isle of Wight.
Rowridge broadcasts the Digital 3&4 multiplex (which carries the ITV channels, C4, price-drop.tv and Teletext) out of the normal band for analogue services from that transmitter.
In order to pick up the missing channels you will need to buy a wideband aerial which picks up a wider range of UHF frequencies.
You can buy them for less than £30 quid in places like Wilkinsons, but installation is the problem.
You may find that you can get OK reception if you use a set-top wideband aerial with a signal booster.
