I'm replacng my OD box with a sagem one. I like the sagem one, but i want to know why it has smartcard slots!!
It's because it's cheap and nasty and they couldn't afford to manufacture a case og their own so they shoved their technical bits and bobs into a standard case they got elsewhere. The slots are useless - there is no card reader behind them.
I have the Samsung box (the only Samsung box) and when I try to use News Multiscreen on BBCi, I get a message saying that my box isn't compatible with the service... does anyone else with this box have that problem?
Why are we getting all of these Teletext sections all of a sudden? Aren't they all available on the channel 9 service already?
It's quicker to access the section you want. Plus, they've bought extra bandwidth on the SDN multiplex (the current service was on Digital3/4). The extra channels are there so that Teletext will work on across both multiplexes.
Nah, Channel 54 should be available for everyone within the next week or two according to Teletext themselves.

Ttext TV Guide on 54 appeared today on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.
As an aside, I live in Stratford-upon-Avon and can't get a decent signal from the Larkstoke TX only 8 miles away. Yet I can get the full line-up from the SC TX about 25+ miles away (obv. with a mast-top amp etc). Anyone else having to go long distance to get Freeview? (Buggers up the postcode requirements!)
When I retune, I only get 55 and not 54, the tv listings channel. When will this come?
afaik, Channel 54 is currently only available on the Crystal Palace transmitter, ahead of it's official launch in January 2004.
January 15th...
What was this Disney freeview channel (wow, disney, free, same sentence...) all about? I couldnt be botherd with any forums, so left it, anyone link me to a place with information? or an old thread?
Does anyone know if there's any plans to expand DTT to more smaller transmitters (e.g. Shotleyfield, near Consett)? I'm asking because we've got a Freeview box but it's currently living with my granny because the signal isn't strong enough and we need the aerial moving to the roof and possibly upgrading. This will cost a fortune especially since our roof is so high they'd probably have to rent longer ladders (We had the Fire service round once to cover a huge hole in the roof but their ladder was only high enough to reach the second floor windows!), so if anyone has any info, we'd appreciate it to avoid a large fee .
