when 'Top-up-TV' starts will Freeview viewers just get alot of new channels with just a blank screen (like Ch15) or will we get new channels.

PS: I can't get Ch 26 it just goes from ch24(price-drop.tv) to ch30(CBBC channel). Is this because I haven't done a re-scan????
thanx

Channel 4 have at least 2 slots on their (just under) half of Mux 2 - which they share with ITV. ITV are squeezing ITV1, ITV2 and the ITVNC into their half, C4 are currently only broadcasting C4 - so could easily broadcast two more.
SDN have stopped broadcasting TV Travel Shop, so there is another slot available.
CCI (Crown Castle International) - who are part of Freeview- have another slot - but I suspect they won't want an encrypted service on their patch.
Interestingly both the ITV/C4 and Five/SDN muxes are using the less robust broadcast standard...

Actually one of Channel 4's spaces is currently used to broadcast Price Drop.TV - on a one year short term contract

What happens depends on how your box interprets pay channels.
If you have an ITV Digital box, you'll be told to insert your card, if you have a new box, some will automatically filter out pay channels and so they won't appear in the lineup, others will recognise them as a pay channel and put a message on the screen to that effect, others will just display a blank screen.
It wouldn't surprise me if the limbo period between some of the channels is used to support an FTA barker channel (I'd expect them at least to provide an FTA MHEG text service which explains what top up is and how to get it - it wouldn't surprise me if this is what channel 26 actually is, rather than a placeholder for one of their TV channels).

Aaah - apologies - I'd missed that. I thought I couldn't find it on the SDN mux! When does their contract end!?
I'd presume either 13th November or 2nd December (13th November 2003 is when the placeholder appeared, 2nd December 2003 is when it actually started broadcasting).
It wouldn't surprise me if it gets swapped out for Bid Up until the contract runs out.
Once it's vacant, it'll be interesting to see what happens next. As it stands at present, C4 intead to put More4 there. But if top up has taken off, they may decide to try and licence the space from C4 for Sky One if they haven't allready found somewhere else to put it by then (or at least to provide much needed breathing room for their existing services - UK Gold would be much better 24 hours, and being able to accomodate it for 24 hours elsewhere would also enable longer transmission hours for the other channels).
