Officially I can't get Freeview where I live, but I can get most of the channels.

Does anyone know what the roll-out plans are to increase coverage of Freeview. There's nothing on their website about it, they just say 'sorry' you can't get Freeview and effectively stick their tongues out!

The old ONdigital site used to have ETA dates for most areas without coverage. The actual coverage is always hugely underestimated in order not to raise hopes for someone who can't actually get it!

I'm in a "dead" zone, but can receive a couple of MUXs.

The checker says we can get Freeview, but in reality we'd need an aerial on an 100m pole to have even a remote chance of recieving it.

It's a bit crazy where I live - just out of Central London, and we can't get it, even though we're right next to a big retail park and just a few minutes from the city!

The freeview checker has no idea about Northern Ireland, everyone where i live (ColeraineBallymena) can get all the mux, but freeview doesnt seem to agree.

Technically most of my area isn't covered by Freeview, but I find it works perfectly - Especially when we have rain.

The last time I looked at the freeview coverage range it was projected that 70% would be covered by 2009, which in all fairness they seem to be on track for.

I wish this whole process would hurry up, but lets come back down to reality here were not likly to see a decent DTT for at least another 5 to 10 years yet.
One aspect which interest me more is the possiblity of more channels following the "switch off". In the mean time looks like the many more baked bean nights with five are ahead... I'll let you figure that one out.

I feel sorry for the people in the street below us... we live in a valley, and the steepest part of the hill is just below our house. In fact to the North of that street they can't get Sky at all (the others have to get the larger dishes often seen on pubs). And with no DTT, and no cable, it's pretty bad. They can't get Channel 5 either, but that's not too much of a loss Laughing . I'm sure it wouldn't be too painful for them to put DTT on our relay...

Also, I don't think we can get DAB, and the FM isn't too good around here either...

Indeed my ickle Brother has the same problem. He lives in Scotland and claims the coverage is nothing short of appauling. IMO His own fault, stupid tet.

Which reminds me. The effectability of wideband ariels has been something a few people have commented on. I recently spoke to our "teckie" and he was slightly depressing in his analysis of there effectabilty. Does anyone find them of use?

we officially cant get freeview in our area, but it works fine.
we had to change the our ariel to a digital / analouge one so that the signal was stronger on certain channels

Do you ever find the glow worms a bit, well tangy?

Oh and the freeview problems are solved. All you need is Ants in the box to imprve coverage. It works wonders *chessy smile*

Not sure it's worth spending money getting a new aerial just to get Sky News.

Second thoughts, yes I am sure it's not worth it!
