Sorry if the question was stupid. OK, what channels would you like to see added when the extra capacity is available?

None. I'd like there to be better picture and sound quality on all main the BBC and ITV channels, not more overcompressed pixellated mush.

I may be wrong but because UKTV Gold is such a flagship channel on Sky, i doubt we'll see it on Freeview for a long time. Even the Topup TV only has it for a few hours if I recall. It would be like putting Sky One on Freeview.

UKTV Gold has just extended its hours on TopUpTV - it's now on from Midday until 5.00am

Still not quite the same as 24 hr on Sky as well as a +1 version, as well as UKTV G2?

I rest me case Wink

Simon

You rest your case? What case would that be?

You said that UKTV GOLD was only on air on TopUpTV for a few hours, and I merely pointed out the fact that they have recently extended their hours.

There was no mention of +1 or G2 initially - so why have you brought those into the ring all of a sudden?

If you ask me, then 17 hours of UKTV Gold a day is pretty good for a DTT service, considering the bandwidth limitations.

Whooaahhh!

I merely stated that UKTV Gold is on 24/7 on Sky, as well as it's +1 and G2 variants.

If you want these channels all the time, stop complaining and get a dish, cheapskate!

Did I complain? No.

I would get a dish, but as a student living in a halls of residence:
a) I'm not allowed to; and
b) Is it really financially viable for a student to enter into a 12 month contract with Sky? Not really.

I also never said that I wanted the channels all the time either, did I? I said that 17 hours a day was sufficient enough.

The bid documents on the OFCOM website for Freeview state that after analogue switch off the BBC and Crown Castle muxs will be able to switch back to 64 QAM - so include at least six channels on each mux.

There are also calls for at least one extra multiplex to be added to the line-up.
