Once all the analogue signals have been switched off, will Freeview have the capacity to launch more channels?

Pure Digital
Yes.

Sorry if the question was stupid. OK, what channels would you like to see added when the extra capacity is available?

My choices:

Entretainment: UKTV Gold, Challenge
Lifestyle: UKTV Food, UKTV Style
Movies: Film Four, Film Four Weekly
Sport: British Eurosport, Eurosport 2

I may be wrong but because UKTV Gold is such a flagship channel on Sky, i doubt we'll see it on Freeview for a long time. Even the Topup TV only has it for a few hours if I recall. It would be like putting Sky One on Freeview.

FilmFour seems a bit unlikely as well - currently £5 standalone on Sky, very much doubt that would appear on DTT - even on TopUp TV.

UKTV Gold has just extended its hours on TopUpTV - it's now on from Midday until 5.00am

Still not quite the same as 24 hr on Sky as well as a +1 version, as well as UKTV G2?

I rest me case Wink

You rest your case? What case would that be?

You said that UKTV GOLD was only on air on TopUpTV for a few hours, and I merely pointed out the fact that they have recently extended their hours.

There was no mention of +1 or G2 initially - so why have you brought those into the ring all of a sudden?

If you ask me, then 17 hours of UKTV Gold a day is pretty good for a DTT service, considering the bandwidth limitations.

Here's an interesting question: how long will the Freeview brand last for, given that after the analog switch-off Freeview will just be "normal" TV..?

Whooaahhh!

I merely stated that UKTV Gold is on 24/7 on Sky, as well as it's +1 and G2 variants.

If you want these channels all the time, stop complaining and get a dish, cheapskate!

I'm sure he would, but he hasn't said that.
