Does anyone remember these games you could play for free on the kids channels? (March 2020)

Does anyone remember the red button symbol in the top right corner during the kids channels and you could play games based on the properties that channel aired for free without using Sky Games?

I remember playing a Nickelodeon golf game on Nicktoons, a few Cartoon Network games on Cartoon Network and a Bob the Builder machine maker on CBeebies. Disney Channel had one as well but I don't remember that one very well.

Here's 3 promos for the Nicktoons, Nick Jr. and Jetix red button games:

These weren't unique to the children's channels, Challenge used to do them as well.

In fact Sky used to have an entire section devoted to "interactive" games, the best known example of which was probably the Beehive Bedlam game:

There were other games, but the above was effectively remade and republished online.

Yes, Sky Games but you could only play a little bit of ths game, then you'll be forced to pay for the entire game.

Little bit? I remember managing to plow through about 20 levels worth of Beehive Bedlam and the only thing it cost me was my time. It never asked me for any payment of sort, but then this was years ago so I'm not entirely sure how many levels it had or what there was to unlock?

IIRC, Beehive Bedlam was free, but you had to pay for full access to most other games.

There are hints that Beehive Bedlam may be returning to Sky Q.

No, Sky Games was later. Beehive Bedlam was on Open...

There was an underwater scuba diver game on Open which I used to love. You had dive down by holding the select button and let go at the correct time to rise towards the surface, whilst avoiding obstacles. It wasn't a well talked about game and it was a shame it wasn't around as long as Beehive Bedlam which didn't interest me.

Funnily enough was just talking about these games with my brother the other day. I remember a game where you guided a rat through sewage tunnels, sure it was a Discovery Kids game, but he has no recollection. Anyone else?

I never knew that, I actually never played myself. I only say it on Sky Gamestar.

A developer has released a version of Beehive Bedlam on Android and Fire TV. It's a very faithful recreation.
