The iPlayer has a remit for experimental and novel content under it's current licence, it's purpose under the same licence is also to drive people to access internet services. This fits the bill nicely.

It just strikes me that it is a waste of the programme not to run it on TV too. But I suppose that is the dilemma with all web-only content. At least with the other iPlayer comedy shorts for earlier in the year, they seemed more experimental and befitting of being web-only.

I caught this earlier on this evening, and even by Boyle's standards it could have easily gone out on BBC2/3, seems odd they went down the iPlayer only route, possibly experimenting for the future if they choose to pull the plug on BBC3.

But I think Frankie couldn't have put it better himself by saying, some people still think he' a c*nt and that the BBC don't trust him either.

I suppose the problem I have with this is that I'd have never known about this programme if I hadn't read about it here, and it's still got to get me to go and find it on iPlayer before I watch it, whereas had it been on any given weeknight on 10pm on BBC2 I'd have seen it in my TV guide or EPG, or stumbled across it by chance, and therefore more likely to watch it.

I don't think linear TV is as dead as some people at the BBC would like to think.

Also I don't appear to be able to download it to iPlayer desktop.

Yes, you can say c*nt on television given decent warning.

I thought it was very funny indeed. I like Fankie Boyle. Very funny guy.

Exactly. Most new TV shows I get into, I discover by watching trails or adverts for them on TV, or stumble across them in the schedule.
