Why? Maidstone is still around, and is used by ITV. Manchester is also around, Glasgow is in Full swing. If ITV really wanted another studio it could reopen Leeds. Sad truth is, its not Cost effective to have all those studios doing thing. ITV may will use leeds but maybe only for 5 months of a year what about the other 7months?

I expect ITV are regretting the closure of most of their regional studios, as some of these would probably be more cost effective now than the London studios, and with the recent closures of other studios in and around London, I'm sure there would be demand for them now.
Doubt it. MediaCity UK can provide an out of London function, and has plenty of spare capacity I believe.
The sort of big productions like The X Factor they do at fountain, would be unlikely to be able to be accommodated at an old style ITV regional studio.

ITV's Manchester studios (former Granada TV studios) aren't going to be around for much longer. The Corrie Tour is now closed, and the entire site is be demolished and redeveloped soon. What exactly have ITV got over at the MediaCityUK site in Salford Quays, other than the new version of the Corrie set and its studios, plus the Granada Reports studio?

I was under the impression the transformation was already underway. I don't think anybody related to ITV has worked in the building for a while. It's definitely somebody else occupying the reception.

There make Jermary Kyle show, I'm also sure there made some other stuff. Mind its shared studios space isn't it? BBC, ITV and others use it for what ever.

Off the top of my head, Kyle and Judge Rinder are made at MediaCityUK, along with Granada Reports for ITV.
The Jeremy Kyle Show is recorded at one of the Dock10 studios on the Salford Quays side of the MediaCityUK complex. (TBH I wasn't aware Judge Rinder was recorded there as well). AFAIK, Granada Reports takes up one rather small studio and office space on one (or more) of the floors of
The Orange Tower
near to the Dock10 studios.
Corrie has the site on the Trafford Wharf side of MediaCityUK. I don't think there's anything else made in the studios on the Corrie lot.
MediaCity UK Studios are owned by the The Peel Group, the BBC are the biggest client. The BBC have the most buildings on site, however the main building called ''The Studios' are used by anyone who wants them basically. As said Jeremy Kyle, Judge Rinder, Countdown, University Challenge, The Voice, Blue Peter use this building to name a few.
I've been to see Judge Rinder and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown being recorded at the studios, the first was filmed in a very small studio and the latter was quite large, needless to say they do have a massive studio for the bigger productions such as The Voice.
Back to the point but it's a shame to see another historic studio go. Yes studios are expensive in London we get that, but you're not always going to get the talent outside of it. I think we have a good number of studios outside of London, however I think it's a shame that the Midlands is really overlooked considering the good programmes that came from Pebble Mill and Central in the past.

There's enough whinging from production types about having to go to Salford or Glasgow, I can't imagine Norwich or Nottingham being that popular
The fact is that studio use has declined over the years and will continue to do so

Well in Norwich's case, Anglia's "big" studio is still available, and has been upgraded to HD. Doesn't see much broadcast use though. I don't think ITV will be particularly upset at having sold it off.
