I couldn't help but feel that this show was slightly sick. Shows like The Apprentice are fine because they are asking for money for business, which is one thing but basically begging millionaires for what is essentially charity is i think a bit sick.
Especially when you've got that blonde haired pr*ck who refused to give two kids some money to travel the country on a locomotive, because it wasn't "normal" like wanting season tickets for football.
I know both of the two "kids" as such (they pay adult fares and are both 16) ... personally one of them deserve it as he is a prolific fare dodger and avoids being caught. It is, of course, made by the same production company as Dragons Den... with it being the same format n' all.

Simon Jordan! Chairman of the club I support, and he's said worse in the past.
He had a point though, why should they have given the money to two trainspotters to go travelling the country? The whole show just seemed bizarre and I agree the whole premise didn't quite sit right with me.
It was interesting and strange to see Liam on it as I see him at school day in day out (he's Year 7, I'm Year 10, both of us at Soham Village College). I tell you he did a great job of keeping it under the wraps, as we all knew about his 'Liam's Mile' charity fundraiser and his sponsorship with Star Radio in Cambridge, but we had no idea he was going to be on this show. It was great to see him get the money as it really is for a good cause. I certainly will congratulate him when we get back on Thursday (he's in the school library a lot the day I'm on duty there, so I'm sure to see him at some point).

Dragons' Den is made BBC Manchester (i believe) and is a format that came from Japan. Fortune is made by Fever Media .
I thought it wasn't a good idea for a show which seemed to be basically an glorified charity program using emotional blackmail. It's hardly likely that you're going to get a kid on who has had cancer and his friend has died of it to look up and say no to him... it would be terrible for their public image!
I must be on my own here! I watched it with anticipation and apprehension thinking that because it was over advertised beforehand that it was going to be bad.
I was quite surprised at how enjoyable the whole programme was. The least enjoyable part was the host - Richard Madeley.
How bad was his presenting skills? He might as well not have been there - he didnt control anything or add much to the programme!
Otherwise great choice for the fortune five - just enough battling going on. And it's great to see loads of odd-balls beg for money.
I really LOL at the trainspotters and that OAP dressed up as a native indian.
Cant wait for episode 2 - not sure about the scheduling mind - I don't know where it belongs but just like Tinnry and Sussanah it doesn't feel right in the slot it has been given!
