Will it works for kids though. The Crystal Maze did of course, but Fort Boyard is all about creepy crawlies, snakes, heights and being eaten by Tigers, and I wonder if making a making it child-friendly will actually rip-out so much of what makes the show.

I can't see how they can accurately recreate Fort Boyard in 30 minutes and make it as good as it was before - even if it is for kids... It will be more like 22-23 minutes taking out the advert breaks so won't be cop at all. They won't be able to fit many games into that timespan... I'm sure kids would appreciate a 1 hour show rather than 23 minutes - much of the audience for the Crystal Maze for example used to be children and that was an hour long and the audience loved it!!

Unless they are going to split the programmes into 2 halves? But I cannot see them doing this...

Hopefully, Laura Hamilton will return to do an adult 1 hour version of the show, just on her own, no American male presenter to help her along and it will be massive!! Very Happy

In a similar vein to Fort Boyard, CITV had (and still airs) Jungle Run which ran/runs in the half hour slot with adverts, I'm guessing the running type has been ordered based around this. They get in quite a few games into Jungle Run, but of course Fort Boyard did have the question sections, and parts out at sea. Speaking of which, will they allow the children to go diving out to sea?
And also if the show is a UK/US co production, what nationality will the children be?

I think the Watch Tower bits will not be included as the role doesn't seem to have been cast, which is a shame. Each team will have a younger looking 18 year old captain presumably this is to get around any age restriction on challenges.

Casting calls went out in each country and we think the teams will be mixed UK and US.

Jungle Run was more or less a complete transplant of location, setting and general behaviour of Crystal Maze more than anything else.

With regards to diving, I don't see why not - the activities on Scorpion Island were far more dangerous than a lot of the things that will supposedly happen on the new Fort Boyard.

Well it was only announced at the end of May. Surely it would have been a push to get such a programme completely finished by the end of the year?
