Just watching this film now on C4 - it's obviously not meant for commercial television, so it makes it look really bad when C4 cut to commercials in really odd places in the film - there aren't really any suitable gaps (ie cuts to black for scene changes)....
I think Channel 4 are certainately the best behaved when it comes to sticking adverts in the middle of films, which are usually once every 25 minutes or so. Especially Film4, they keep the crap to the minimum, just the adverts and maybe a promo for good measure.
I guess in this case it's not Channel 4's problem, films are just films and are not really designed for Television use.

what I find funny is the number of film sites who cast Haley Joel Osment as played the young forest Gump when he play forest gump junior. The young Forest was play by Michael Conor Humphries.
Having the same name probably does not help but even in the IMDB on Haley's filmography they show forest gump and when you click on it you get Michael Conor Humphries. Haley isn't even credited on the IMDB for the film.
