Sorry if there was already a thread but I could only find stuff buried in The Sport Thread and thought a new one would be better. I'll add images to this post but won't be staying up too late.

Anyway, new logo for Sky F1, new car designs including the controversial halo. New titles on Sky Sports featuring the memorable crash in Singapore.

New microphones, they will stand out on the grid.

All the above in the order they appeared on screen. Not a lot going on in this session so far, and I need my bed soon so that's all for now.

Race Control on Sky still has the old logo on the loading screen. No sound on the Pit Lane option. On Board Mix and Timing Screen currently not available. Nothing to indicate which cars you're with on the other two on-boards.

Here's the new FOM intro.

Further to this..
FOM need to 'bold up' the position numbers on the tower. Great for 4K, but I needed to squint to read them on my HD TV. Upgrade to this, is that slower times now move down the tower, with a quick red animation making it easier to see a change on it.

Nice animate on, with the drivers personal race number counting up to it, before a reveal of name and team. Easier to see this in action with Bottas (77) than Alonso (14)

Slowed down F1 engine sound on the replay wipe graphics.

Corner/turn counter when following a specific car around the track to the right of the still ugly F1 logo.

And team radio is now introduced by a radio pips transmission sfx, which reminded me a lot of the old commercial radio travel RDS tones, stations used to work into the travel news jingle top and tail to get the T-A feature to switch to that station.

Not as horrific as I was expecting.

I like those graphics.

They seem very inspired by the team logos on the PS title, WipeOut, with regards to its futuristic look.

ESPN in the US who have taken over the rights from NBC are now taking the entire Sky Sports F1 programme.

Nice but hope they've thought what they're going to do if one of those drivers drops out or worse during the season

Is that a good or bad thing for the viewers?
I know Sky's programme is shown in South Africa and on Fox in Australia (where you'd think they'd do their own thing).

Not quite. They are only taking the world feed coverage for practice and qualifying but are taking the On The Grid section which broadcasts 40 minutes before lights out so USA viewers will see Brundle's Grid Walk.

Eir Sport have the world feed with the Channel 4 commentary team, as in previous years. This is of course the last year that eir Sport and Channel 4 will have coverage before the sport goes Sky-exclusive in the U.K. and Ireland next year.

I like the new animations and graphics tweaks, including the logo on the captions which is a nice touch. The new FOM intro is nice (lets face it, the sweeping curves had been around for forever and a day and were getting tired). What’s bad? The font. The font is awful.
