As spotted by @FormulaMoney, a report from @HowieLongShort says that Liberty Media is exploring a possible sale of @F1, whether partial or full.

- Full sale would come as a shock given Liberty just bought F1 in '17 and is early on in turnaround plan.

I wonder how much the certain drop in UK audiences this year will have to do with this?

Liberty have been quite candid about their unhappiness with the Sky deal which Ecclestone did before selling the syndicate entirely.

Wonder if this 'Liberty want out' is just someone causing a bit of mischief..

I do like what they've tried to do - even if it took me several races to accept the new F1 logo. The problem is the teams and the drivers hiding behind press and pr minders, and huge sponsored mirrored sunglasses. The closest about 119,000 spectators at Silverstone last year got to the drivers was seeing the drivers either waving, talking to F1 TV or listen to music in oversized bluetooth headphones (also sponsored) being driven an a couple of laps of the circuit on a low loader truck.

But the UK TV deal is strange to the casual observer, - it's Liberty's toy to play with, so why not change it?

But I guess Bernie Ec put in so many penalty amounts with loads of zeros for a break of contract clause payments for both FOM and Sky, Liberty don't think it's worth sitting back down with Sky and thrashing something out to let Channel 4 back in, with a handful of more live races.
