Lets take a look back at one of the most forgotten ITV rebrands which only lasted 11 months? This is in part to find out how many idents were actually made, and also to see if anyone has changed there minds since 2006 about the ident? https://tvforum.uk/tvhome/itv1-2-3-rebranding-19324/ How young we were.

Here are the four site that seem to have the full batch together.

It was very generic and boring, and it’s still odd how ITVs 2, 3 and 4 got really great presentation out of that rebrand but their flagship channel got these. Not much of a surprise that they didn’t last the year.

Do you remember the last ident?

I liked those idents summing up emotions with brilliant distinct soundtracks. The problem with the flagship channels is that idents have to target every age group due to the diverse nature of programmes. I think it's worked better with the current branding however I don't look back and hate these as some others seem to.

The thing I remember most about this rebrand was the introduction of the “ITV Studios” brand, removing the final traces of the regional company names on endcaps (though by this time the majority of them said Granada! Granada, Granada London, Granada Yorkshire etc).

Technically it was ITV Productions that was used before ITV Studios, with the dullest endboard ever. Worth noting that pretty much up until 2010/11 or so all productions for other channels were credited as Granada.

Caught the tail end of an episode of Heartbeat from this era earlier today, the ‘Next Episode’ caption and credits are of this era with the font and the bright blue background. Not the best package looking back.

I meant to say “ITV Productions”! The “ITV Studios” brand came along a few years later, didn’t it?

Granada’s overseas interests/channels seem to have all been rebranded to ITV since 2006, too. How are their programmes for other channels credited these days?

Depending on what arm of ITV Studios has made the programme, the Granada name has been dropped from Productions. It’s weird seeing University Challenge as An ITV Studios Production for the BBC. Likewise with Countdown and Channel 4 respectively.
