Bitsa was brilliant with the timed challenge - making things out of toilet rolls etc
I remember that! I'd thought of it the other day actually and was sure it had 'bits' in the title somewhere.
It was brill watching them make stuff against the clock! The wikipedia entry for it has also jogged the memory a bit.
I've yet to find the titles and theme for Bitsa anywhere - it would be great to see them again.
Of course this was all during the early Andi Peters/Toby Anstis era of CBBC (1993/4) along with the original Brum (different titles and brass band theme) and Melvin and Maureen's Musical Grams. Who remembers that! Blue Peter back then was hosted by John Leslie, Yvette Fielding and Diane Louise Jordan.
I can very vaguely remember watching something on Channel 4 or HTV in the early 1990s. I *think* it was called Tricky, I'm not sure, but it was hosted by a cartoon Dragon called Tricky. I've tried searching all over the place but haven't been able to find anything. Can anyone help?
Why Don't You Just Switch Off Your Television Set And Go Out And Do Something Less Boring Instead?
The foot going through the TV screen in the opening titles - now that was class.
I think there was three different versions of the Why Don't You? theme - could anyone clarify : there was an early version, the classic whyyyyyyyyyyyyy don't you version, and a later version used towards the end of it's era.
Along the same idea as Why Don't You and Bitsa was " Do It! " with Sheelah Gilbey

Tricky was the animated dragon used on CITV Saturday morning linking 3 seperate programmes. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH - they should have stuck with Gimme 5 and What's up Doc!!!! At least it only lasted about 2/3 series before SMTV-Live started.
Tricky (him/her self) can now be seen on POP/POP Jr.
Not so much a forgotten TV programme - but can anyone remember the original, Roy Castle, version of Record Breakers, complete with the theme tune sung by the star himself.
