Anyone for Benny Hill - dubbed into Turkish?

Izmir - a major city on the west coast of Turkey - is approx 220km away over open sea from where I live. On most days during good weather, I can receive most of the TRT channels, and it's surprising what you see!

I posted this image in the general chat forum (and on MHP Chat) a short while back -

Has anyone images from distant stations?

I've picked up a few channels from France and Holland. Sadly, I never got to record or capture them.

I haven't tried recently actually, I can normally pick up a signal from abroad but it degrades when it travels overground and thats the problem here in the Midlands! Smile

If I can get anything recorded then I will. I don't have a video connected at the moment but I will soon. Also, to top it all off. My TV card REFUSES to work. Ah, the joys of modern technology! Sad

Nice to see the Central endcap retained, albeit with a Carlton Productions one as well!

aaaah well being the Turkish correspondent I have to say a few words here...except I can't think of anything...all I can say is because I live slap bang in the middle of Turkey, I can't do any DX because the nearest coast is 200km away, let alone the nearest foreign transmitter.

Btw, what does DX stand for?

It's good to see foreign channels. I have a 1m motorised satellite dish and can receive channels from the UK through Sweden, Estonia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Italy and Portugal, pretty much every European country and most Middle East and North African country as well. It's an eye opener.

Shame that it's TRT, Andrew Smile It's almost as bad as the Greek ERT in terms of quality, pretty much crushed by it's commercial rivals such as Show and Star TV.

Quite interesting though Smile
