Legitimate discussion on the forum, Nick 'I'm an old codger' Harvey has sent fear through the forum, no wonder activitiy is so scarce these days. Nice one Nick!.

Bravo have done a good job in getting the Italia games, hope it pays off for them and make them more confident that they can be a true competitor in the Pay TV area.

They've been about a bit since C4 dropped the Italian football. ITV2 had them at one point and Eurosport, and possibly Sky.

Always used to make me laugh that we could get live Italian Serie A games here free on terrestrial TV while in Italy they were all on pay-per-view!

ISTR it was the 2000-2001season that was shown on ITV2 aswell as Channel 4, ITV2 showed one live game on a Sunday night, which was shown about 7pm. But by the time Channel 4 ended Football Italia it was usually being shown at 3.00am. But good to see it back on British TV, with a bit more publicity.

Though going to your second point, I think this problem occurs in other countries, isn't it right that when the Saturday Premier League games have finished (about 5pm on average) then the highlights are shown before 8pm on some channels around the world. Plus what people don't realise is that English Premier League Football is very popular in parts of Asia too, so I bet there's a terrestrial screening in whatever country of an English game somewhere.

Yep, all those 3pm Saturday games that we're never allowed to see are screened live across Asia (as fans with P2P internet TV streams are starting to appreciate!).

I think this is very interesting, not just buying the rights to Italian Football, but actually reviving the whole Channel 4 name and format. I'll wait to see how similar it really is, will they use the old theme tune?

I guess so, as it's being made for Bravo by the same people behind the Channel 4 Italian football coverage - North One Television (formerly Chrysalis tv)
