Slightly annoying that the weather went out in 14:9... I was trying to persuade my dad that 4:3 letterbox was better than 4:3 CCO at the time, which ruined the demonstration

I'm a bit confused... the weather is 16:9 digital and 14:9 analogue and has been for quite some time...

Dunno - I was watching on analogue in our kitchen and the vision between the News and the following programme was a bit strange - the vision kept flickering between 14:9 and 4:3, particularly bad on the Panorama slide.

There was a similar issue a few weeks ago, with all the idents flicking into Letterbox 1 second in, then going back to 14:9 just before the programme. That was only analogue though.

More problems during the junction between Breakfast with Frost and the Heaven and Earth Show...

During the cocked up junction into Football Focus the weather appeared 14:9 on digital (NTL, Leeds at any rate), the ratio switched for the fault caption which followed.

So when I put the box in 4:3 letterbox the letterbox effect wasn't quite so pronounced since it was 14:9 not 16:9

The directors in the Nations have access to the scripts written by the announcer in London.

The BBC logo sounds like the still that appears between programmes on the clean feed available to the Nations.

Sounds like problems in London.

Just to remind you, BBC Broadcast recently re-located to the Broadcast Centre, the most technologically advanced playout facility in Europe. The company is due to be sold later this year.

Are they going to rename it "Ensignia", or something?!?!?! Crying or Very sad

That's a good point - I don't think it will be allowed to use the BBC name, and Broadcast on its own doesn't really work. Obviously if a company like BT buys it, BBCB might just take on the existing name.

Did anyone capture these full length idents at the breakdown into Football Focus?

Not at that time, however I do have copies of the full length idents. Bought them off Dan or was it Marski! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Are they videos or just audios and how much did you buy them for?

Would suggest that you don't discuss purchase of copies of copyright material on a public message board.

It could get the people who supplied them into a LOT of trouble. However innocent the deal may have been (cover costs of blank media etc) - there are real issues with broadcast employees providing members of the public with unofficial copies.

Sure it goes on - but don't shout about it here...

... or alternatively consider the option that Ruski was taking the p**s.

I'm pretty sure he has access to full-length clean idents, but he doesn't need to buy them off anyone Very Happy

Luckily he was just joking - selling idents would be highly dodgy!
