Anyone catch the fault into Football Focus just now? What happened- I only caught the end of it with the apology... first time i've seen the apology caption in the new red style too!

Here in Scotland, we just got the news and at the end of the bulletin, it stayed on the end shot for around 20 seconds. It then cut to a BBC News logo (looked like a still from the opening titles) for about 5 seconds. Afterwards there was a split second of a promo then cut to the weather as usual. The OLD Tumbler ident played out for a full 30 seconds then paused at the end (presumbly because they ran out of ident) and eventually after around 15 seconds went to the BBC Sport.

What I find weird is that BBC One Scotland hasn't got the new Tumbler ident. They still have the old music

On BBC 1 Wales the tai chi ident played but no announcer. Eventually the male announcer spoke and said something about fa cup football later and then finished saying...."talking about football...." expecting Football Focus to appear but instead the FULL tai-chi ident played before cutting to a rundown/clock graphic after the ident had finished id'ing the next ident on the 'tape'. Then Football Focus began...

"talking about football...."

Funny that because Scotland got the same announcment read out by our announcer. Smile I didn't realise they shared announcments.

The directors in the Nations have access to the scripts written by the announcer in London.

The BBC logo sounds like the still that appears between programmes on the clean feed available to the Nations.

Sounds like problems in London.

Just to remind you, BBC Broadcast recently re-located to the Broadcast Centre, the most technologically advanced playout facility in Europe. The company is due to be sold later this year.

It's a very nice still though. I couldn't have made a better one myself. Wink

Judging by the quality of output between 12 noon and 12.10pm today, the equipment is so advanced the directors can't get to grips with it.

It also appeared on News 24 recently, instead of a trail IIRC.

There are some HDTV test shots available at Digital Spy, many of which were taken in the broadcast centre. It's very very *very* shiny I'm sure you'll all agree!

I suppose that's one possible explanation.

Slightly annoying that the weather went out in 14:9... I was trying to persuade my dad that 4:3 letterbox was better than 4:3 CCO at the time, which ruined the demonstration
