Five 2 could well turn out to be a working title for the channel. There's also nothing to say that there will definately be a consistant look between the two channels - each of C4's channels has their own individual branding with no common logo to tie them all together, but they all manage to co-exist quite happily. C5 could well return to a numeral 5 for the main channel, but still have a channel called 'Five.2' aswell.
This would cause confusion how exactly? As long as no other broadcaster in this country allready operates as RTL then there is no confusion. Remember that Sky Italia operate different channels in Spain with the same names as channels here.

The name Five.2 means that they will have to retain the logo as a word rather than a number in the future as well, otherwise it will look like it's called Fifty-Two!

I doubt whether that would be suitable, as RTL2 already exists in Europe (Luxembourg) and would cause confusion.

Either five-two or five point two one would imagine

Five.2
(why do we keep typing it like that?) just sounds silly. How's it pronounced, 'Five Dot Two'?
Still, I can't think of any other names. 'Five Plus' might make people think it's just a +1 channel, and 'More 5' would bring round the lawyers.

what about Five +1, the first Terestrial broadcaster to have a timeshift channel? or maybe not

Not in Letzebuerg.
RTL2 (RTL deux) is a national commercial radio network in France.
<http://www.rtl2.FR/>
RTL II (RTL svie) is a national commercial television network in Deutschland.
<http://http://www.rtl2.DE>
So surely there is no reason why there could not be an RTL two in England?

Just to add to Corin's point

click the link above and see how many of RLT's television channels are called RTL. I think there would be no probelm with renaming Five RTL.
Personaly i think they should stick with five as they have done alot to get the "five" brand recognised, unless they do want to name the second channel with a "2, two, II" RTL 1 and RTL 2 sound and look alot better than Five1 and Five2

I’d think it is defiantly going to be called Five.2 because it’s stated in the latest "Ofcom Television Licence Issued" document.

TLCS - Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd - Five.2
