Five have revealed they are going to celebrate their tenth anniversary basically by glossing over their programming in the last ten years and instead focus on a series of programmes involving 10 year old kids, including Gordon Brown being interviewed by 10 year olds, 10 year olds being interviewed about being 10 years old, celebrities remembering when they were 10 years old, programmes about extraordinary 10 year olds and "The 10 Demandments", in which 10 year olds switch places with their parents.

The only nod to programming is a one-off comedy quiz "I Blame the Spice Girls" - hosted by that notable C5 personality Liza Tarbuck which will focus on the "music, fashions and politics" of Five's history.

Hmm, bit of a let down there IMO.

Be interesting to see how Five copes post-DSO. Main rating shows seem to be CSI and Home & Away, the latter doing very well on first-look in the digital charts.

Well, five is ten this Friday - I wonder if we'll see any on-screen changes to mark this? Let's face it, the channel could do with a refresh (and this used to happen pretty frequently in the first few years).

Anyone else agree the channel was better in it's pre-five days? The launch line-up was pretty ropey but overall it was a better channel and had a really good feel to it. I probably watched it more then than I do now.

I reckon they should have a realy bold and radical revamp, completely wipe the slate clean and start again. They have more money these days so I'm sure they could come up with something good.

I'm not impressed with all this "what's it like being ten years old". The only thing i'm (just about) looking forward to is "I Blame The Spice Girls". At least you get a bit of nostalgia in that.

What was it like?

I know that they seem to have created a new style of endboard for the promo (great as it's a change), where the five is ten is unfolded like a birthday banner.

The Extrodinary Ten Year Olds programme last night was really uplifting. Me and my parents watched in ore as these 10yr olds coped, it made me feel guilty for times i've moaned and groaned.

Happy Birthday Five.

When I first watched Channel 5 I thought it was brilliant with a new and exciting line up e.g the quiz show 100% for example. On holiday in Tenby I got up at 6am to watch 5 Early and I was impressed with the evening news at 8.30pm and updates every hour throughout the evening. I also thought that the old logo saying "5" and the coloured bars was better. I used to watch 5 now and again but I hardly watch it now. In my opinion it's gone down hill and it's a shame that is has.
