BBC2 - show cult favourites Family Guy and Star Trek in graveyard slot.

And us Ceefax fans know why that is, don't we? Evil or Very Mad You forgot to mention BBC2's appalling repeat levels which prop up its schedules every single day of the week. But rather than downtime at weekends, which would help address the problem, BBC2 opts to screen double bills of Star Trek and Taken, keeping it on air till the ridiculous hour of 5:05am.

Oh, and did I tell you that in January BBC2's weekday startup was brought forward from 7am to 6am, the extra hour being filled with REPEATED CBeebies material?

In a 'new'* service from the BBC, Ceefax is now available on-demand by pressing the text button on the remote control of your analogue tv. You'll never have to stay awake to the small hours again....

And what's more... it won't be discontinued at DSO - Ceefax page numbers are carried over to BBCI IIRC.

I'm not sure if Ashley still has it up on thisisfive, but as it's the 10th anniversary, I thought I'd dig out the original pre-launch promo loop for the channel. Interesting to see how next to none of the revolutionary ideas for their schedule remain! Laughing

I've always dipped in and out of five. I used to watch all those retro classic like Charlie's Angels and the like and I was totally addicted to Sunset Beach!

Whatever happened to Jack Docherty?

Happy Birthday five!

Poor old Five - nobody turned up to their birthday party! Worst peak time performance since 2002 - and worst Friday performance since September 1997 - averaging 390,000 - compared to 392,000 for ITV2!

Yes - but you can only spend what you earn and are given as investment backing - if Five had bigger budgets it would be able to compete on a more level playing field with the other terrestrials.
