It's exactly a year to the day since Channel 5 became five, and people have applauded the channel. Gone are the days of smut and indecency, and we have been introduced to more serious programming.

Do you think that five has improved in the last year? I think it has, there are more documentaries and art shows which is what I like, and it's nice to see they can repeat the classic shows like Charlies Angels.

Well done five. Very Happy

I wouldn't say it's improved - but it's changed. I'd argue that's a shame - it's remit now is certainly very different to at launch - but others may disagree.

I would honestly have to say that it is has improved, as if I am off I usually watch The Wright Stuff and Terry & Gaby, which make a damn good altenative to Trasha and Kilroy etc etc, something which is worth watching. In Prime time I would have to say that it is a mix of ITV and Channel 4, basically entertianment and documentaries, something which isn't done by many channels and you would have to give them a bit of credit for that.

I've also noticed that amount of porn has gone down too, as the Friday Night Film seems to have disappeared.

I quite liked the enteratinment approach that they first had. I think the first years of channel 5 were the best. Take away the smut and porn which was only a few nights in the week and you had a great schedule for a great looking channel with a great channel identity.

The channel hasnt really changed that much in the past year, they have changed to five, got rid of the old 'better' logo, and reduced entertainment programming for more arts and documentaries.

The channel was already showing arts programmes, documentaries and basically a similar schedule to what they are now when they were still known as channel 5 with the last set of idents. That demonstrated the class, beauty and progress that the channel and its identity had taken over the years.

I think the only things that I have liekd since they have changed were the live 7pm show live with chris moyles (wasnt much a fan of the christian o connell version, until richard bacon presented for the last two weeks!). Terry and Gaby is great, great to see Jimmy Tarbuck back in for Terry this week! and the look of older childrens slot shake! at the weekends is better presented.
