Bravo! What a cracking junction. Slick is indeed the only word for it. And classy.

But this word thing replacing the five logo... hmmm, I'm not buying it. I don't understand it! What does it mean? The idents would look just as good with the five logo. The first ident with the dice was good (although the ending was a bit drab) but then the word "hope" appeared and my only reaction was... "huh?"

It'd be nice to think they have a set of the same idents in a cupboard somewhere where the five logo appears instead.

Anyway, all very good indeed. Heck even this looks good on it's own:

It looks like the 'five' word will remain on trails, just not be on idents. Did you spot all the chips on the number 5, though?

...think Silk Cut and B&H....you knew what those brands were without the words telling you...same applies to Five with the use of the same font ...and with the announcers verbally stating Five...do you need it on the idents?

Although goldmister, who certainly seemed to know what he was talking about, said that Five haven't entirely ditched the name from the idents. Perhaps there are some more which still use the Five logo, or there are versions of these ones with Five instead of the other words.

There's a little ident compilation to watch out for just before Prison Break too.

Also before anyone else starts moaning, Five haven't ditched their name from the idents entirely and there are some cracking ones..namely lightning and skydiving. A couple to watch out for.

I think the whole thing looks fantastic, I have to say - the only thing I'm slightly disappointed about is that it appears the trailer design is staying the same. I would have preferred them to have been refined slightly, I think they look a bit too chunky for their own good at the moment. The drama trailers are fantastic and refreshingly cool and classy - I was expecting something more along those lines.

I may have been confusing the "live" lightning trail with the word "five" so dont hold me to that Smile

Indeed, is Prison Break worth the hype though?

My take on it is that it's actually quite clever; the 'five' logo in that position and in that font is so familiar now that they can change the word for something else and everyone still knows that it's five. Quite a few modern companies do it, once the branding is well established they can play with it a bit... look at Google and its regular odd-logos

It's the sign of a good brand - instantly recognisable even though it doesn't actually mention what it is

All I can say is...wow! Very Happy

I think it's safe to say that five have just overtaken Channel 4 in the coolest pres. stakes.

Wow. I was watching on a grainy analogue b+w set so many thanks to Andrew and Ashley for the caps. They look absolutely great. To me, *they* are what idents are all about. Mixing live action, CGI with the logo (well, a logo!) with great post production.

The whole caption at the end of the previous programme, ECP, countdown and ident also made for a very good looking junction.

Well done five! And at least it'll be easy to guess the official ident names Wink

(Although on that clip with the skydiver, I was half expecting a 'Sky - what do you want to watch?' caption to appear!)

Yep, agree that the idents were fantastic (as I said they would be Wink) and I'm glad one of the channels is being daring. Very disappointed that the trailers are the same as before, though.

Liked Prison Break alot...the set up episodes are always a bit tricky as there is a lot to take in...I'm going to stick with it ...and see what I think after a couple more

Love the countdowns and everything. This has made Channel 4 look like the old broken computer, while Five is the trendy, slick, does everything apple mac Surprised
