Yet another thread ruined - not by Digifriend but by the complaints about his post.

Can I please appeal for a system of ignorance where posts you believe to be a waste of time are either reported or just merely overlooked. The number of threads on this forum lately with pages of arguments over what should and shouldn't be posted is so frustrating.

The set at the moment is used to CSO the ITV News Channel when they are using the main studio for ITV1 output. It isn't used by five anymore.
If that's what you meant when you told me to read the posts more carefully, I think you'll find the two channels simulcast!

And what's CSO?

Chroma, Seperation, Overlay AKA Chromakey, Green Screen etc... yada, yada...

I say Green Screen, except the news channel CSO is on a blue screen.

No, it's not mate. The News Channel CSO is a green screen the same as all other CSO's in ITN.

I would imagine that News Channel will move temporarily into the old Big Breakfast Updates studio in the ITV Newsroom.. Just behind where Station Engineers sit near the Media Manager.

Hmm Whataday you have confused me now!

How many studios do ITN provide for each of the following news services currently!?

ITV News on ITV1
ITV News Channel
Five News
Channel 4 news

The way I see things set-up currently is that ITV News on itv1 and ITV News Channel share a total of two studios - the big one that features at 12:30 and 10:00 etc and throughout the rest of the day on ITV News Channel (or for rehearsals) and then a CSO smaller studio which is used for the 15:00 itv news on itv1 and (news reports) and also on the ITV News Channel whilst rehearsals take place for a 'major' bulletin on ITV1!

SO

If Channel Five utilise the ITV News CSO studio - how on earth are they going to be able to produce TWO news services for ITV1 AND ITV News Channel?

By temporarily shifting the ITV News CSO output to another suitable place (such as the one formerly used for the Big Breakfast news) whilst the main Five studio is being worked on.

C4 News have their own space, of course.

Ah so rather than just move the five news studio to a temp studio - ITN are infact messing about moving TWO operations into temp studios - now thats a great idea!

Does anyone have any pictures of where the Big Breakfast updates studio was situated?

Well, it makes sense, as the studio currently used for ITV News CSO broadcasts is a 'proper' studio, suitable for Five's full-scale news programmes with studio guests etc.

Whereas the News Channel's CSO needs do not require a full-scale studio

I thought that in the later days of The Big Breakfast, I am certain that (I think Jasmine) mentioned that they were in the proper Channel 4 News studio, possibly in the seat where there's a massive '4' projected into the wall. But do correct me if I am wrong.

Ah so you are saying that the ITV News on ITV1 and The ITV News Channel share a total of THREE studios now!

The main 12:30/22:00 itv1 main news studio and also the continuous ITV News Channel Studio where both services also have there own CSO studio making a total of three!

That sounds a bit wasteful having two CSO studios between ITV1 and ITV News Studio!

Are you sure you really know what you are talknig about here?

I thought it was just the one studio - hence why all the ITV1 news is simulcast on ITV News Channel.

As written above, ITV1 bulletins need to use the main studio to rehearse, which is when ITVNC relocates to the other studio.
