Also from tonight the 7pm programme will be a normal news based programme, the chat show format has been droped as suggested by myself earlier on this year.

I'm really disapponted by that. Five have the perfect opportunity to have both a pure news and a chat based shows. Currently the 7pm programme is very watchable, a good format, certainly not one to be dropped. The more debate based format as previously used on wednesdays could have been used to create a news hour with a quick round up, a debate and then returning to chat for the last 20 mins, with lighter stories introduced later on. it certainly would fill an hour quite well. They could even schedule them as seperate programmes to keep the "quick news" audience.

I have thought about that idea of an hour news for a while but I dont think that five could compete with C4 and I think that the arty type shows are bringing in bigger audiences at 7.30 than an extended news would.
The new five news was described earlier as a cheap version of BBC news, hopefully it wont turn out like that. It sounds like it will be more like C4 news.
Will the five news newsroom be getting a makeover or will it stay the same as it is now.
They always seem to have a distinct colour for each change. What colour will this one be?

The set at the moment is used to CSO the ITV News Channel when they are using the main studio for ITV1 output. It isn't used by five anymore.

During the changeover period won't there be a conflict between Five News's broadcast times and the times when the ITV NC uses the studio?

The ITV News Channel will re-locate to another studio.
ITV News is relaunching soon anyway (January? Possible even sooner?) so the relocation might be permanent. ITVNC uses the same studio as ITV1, so expect the Evening News to be affected.

If that's what you meant when you told me to read the posts more carefully, I think you'll find the two channels simulcast!

And what's CSO?

Digifiend, please shut up unless you know what you are talking about! You post utter **** all over the place and it is very annoying.

The studio that Five News will be using is the one used by the News Channel three times a day whilst the main ITV News studio is in use for rehearsals and trails for the ITV1 bulletins

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about (surprise surprise).

Let me split it all up into little sections:

1. ITV1 needs the main studio in order to rehearse its bulletins.

2. Whilst ITV1 are using the studio, ITVNC has to move to a smaller studio which is just a blue background with the ITV News background added in using CSO.

3. Five News will be moving into the smaller studio which ITVNC uses when the main studio is being used by ITV1.

Right click on the emoticon (I think I saw the one you mean somewhere here) copy it's address, and use [IMG] tags to use it.

Oh bloody hell, are you REALLY as thick as you come across as being? Is that actually possible? By asking how I use that emoticon, I was actually saying "Digifiend, please shut up because you're annoying me" - albeit using alternative words. But obviously I was being too clever for you. Ho-hum.
