Hi everyone I've been quiet for a while now and I'm back with some cool news on the forthcoming five News relaunch.
THE DATE:
Monday 6th October 2003 (if all goes to plan)
THE LOOK:
Still not known but in a shock move the newsroom will be making a re-appearance in the background.
THE SEAT:
Five News always breaking boundries with its presenter perches, this time all I know is that they are thinking about a single chair....no desk at present.
ANY MORE INFO:
Nothing except those nuggets as yet, however five News will relocate to the Five News and talk set during the change over period. You may remember this set from the ITN News Channel, ITN Early Everning News etc...(late 90's) we will move back to studio 5 on October 6th if all goes well.
Elements of the current design are nice, although i think the titles need to be more substantial, the set needs more to it and the horrid blue needs to go.
I loved the original five news! Are the presenters going to stay the same then.

The presenters are all staying the same...not sure about the music yet.

The set at the moment is used to CSO the ITV News Channel when they are using the main studio for ITV1 output. It isn't used by five anymore.
Also from tonight the 7pm programme will be a normal news based programme, the chat show format has been droped as suggested by myself earlier on this year.

Well if that’s the case what a shame, I thought the discussion show was more enjoyable than the news. There’s very little news discussion about at this time of the evening.
Do Five have any plans to employ more reporters than they have currently?
I don't like the sound of this very much. One single chair? That's not good. They need a sofa, or a desk. A chair just isn't good IMO.
Also, I like the Chat Show aspect of the programme. It really makes Five News what it is. Loosing that is.. is like loosing all of your presents at Christmas (Ok, so I'm watching the Christmas Superman on BBC TWO. Sue me. :p ).
