Live from Studio Five cut to 30 minutes next week with Five News at 7 reinstated.

Good but only for 15mins because of Cricket + no Isla

Strange they didn't continue LfSF until 7.15 - Can only assume it's another change being enforced.

EDIT: Sorry it is 30mins on Tuesday! wonder who will take the presenting role then?! Natasha like when she first joined?

How will this work from a studio point of view? Will they have to pre record one of them, or would the news simply come from the CSO in the sky news centre?

In the way that five use the CSO in the news centre, is there any way that two broadcasts could be done from the news centre, for example skynews.com at the wall at 7, and five news using the soft set, surely it would pass for five news with graphics on the big screen and the desk removed?

Wouldn't be surprised to see a return of the OK!TV brand replacing Live from Studio 5. Seems an obvious move and might bot be too bad providing they don't get fiona to host it again!

They've made changes to the website already as well. The title of the homepage is now:

"News, entertainment, sport and drama from Channel Five at Five.tv"

And the title of the demand five site is now:

"Demand Five | watch television on demand - Channel 5 TV"

There's a bit of inconsistency there. One says Channel Five, and one says Channel 5.

No they've always said that.

Probably not possible as Desmond won't be able to advertise his papers on the channel due to EU competition rules.

I Think Matt Barbet will probably do it from the main five news studio if not maybe one of the sky news presenters did anyone see charlette of sunrise filling in recently she would be good .

Also sorry what does CSO Mean

Colour Separation Overlay - the technique used to replace a green or blue background with another image.

TV Forumers should know this. Especially new members who post so much.

But Five news and LFSF share the same studio. How do you propose they change the sets in the space of 3 minutes?

Isn't one just in front of the other. Does Live from Studio Five have any viewer interaction (phone calls etc.) or could it take advantage of the OFCOM definition of live and be broadcast on a 15-minute delay?

Is it possible that Live From Studio Five might be going to some sort of 'best-of' pre-recorded series as it is the summer? Unless they've realised going head to head with the One Show is a daft idea?

Also ginofish, don't be sorry for asking a legitimate question on here, new posters shouldn't be expected to know the technical terms without asking, regardless of how over-enthusiastic they are with posting on here.

I should add that outside the UK and Australia, CSO is better known as "chroma key". According to Wikipedia (I know, I know Wink ), "CSO" was originally a BBC term.
