A question I hope someone can answer.
Five's content excluded, just on air branding. What if RTL took all the on air branding with them (not that it would be any use) would that be possible for Northern & Shell to keep the channel running?
It's like if BBC was to sell its tv channels (the branding goes with everything else they own and therefore would want to keep it)
I like the current Five branding and hope it's not lost - in time I know it will be removed

BBC owns the BBC brand, so if they sold a channel it would have to be without it (if in the UK).
Similarly, Virgin own the brand of the same name, but licence it to others for use. Sky didn't licence the name for the channel 'Virgin1' so they have to rename it.
'FIVE' is a fairly useless brand without the TV channel that it's attached to, so I can't imagine why RTL would want to make a separate agreement about it. No doubt it was just sold as part of the deal for the channel.

All such details would be worked out within the sales process anyway.
Axe Ian Wright.
In my opinion LFSF has got a lot better since the early days, but not sure what it can do to attract its audience...

Thanks, Ben, Stuart & Brekkie.
I understood the brand is useless to anyone, just what if it was situation.

They've made changes to the website already as well. The title of the homepage is now:
"News, entertainment, sport and drama from Channel Five at Five.tv"
And the title of the demand five site is now:
"Demand Five | watch television on demand - Channel 5 TV"
There's a bit of inconsistency there. One says Channel Five, and one says Channel 5.
I wonder if the website will be changed back to channel5.co.uk (or maybe they'll go for channel5.tv, which doesn't appear to belong to anyone else).

www.channel5.co.uk redirects users to www.five.tv
Surely they could just retain the Five brand while referring to it as Channel Five on TV and online.

I know that, I'm just wondering if they'll stop using (& promoting their website as) five.tv and go back to their original website address.
