Yes, the 'five' logo was nice, very clean and classy. Always thought the current one was a bit too trendy and cartoony
I think the logo that is currently on air was the best logo to date for FIVE. The old logo was dull and unimaginative and the new one isn't great either.

I agree. However when I first saw the current logo, as just a static image, I didn't think they would develop the excellent presentation package they use at the moment.
So here's hoping that we are under-estimating what they are going to achieve with the new logo.
True - you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. But I think it's gonna take a lot of hope and a team of amazing designers to make that logo work well on screen.
Sorry for the watermark, some sites are using the scan without credit.
Horrible logo which I could've designed myself in two minutes in MS Paint. And I see there's no hole in the A in Channel there - seems they can't even print it correctly. And the branding is now inconsistent if five.tv and the TV channels haven't actually introduced the new logo.
If that logo is for real - what a pity. The UK used to be the home of cutting edge broadcast design - with all the terrestrials having decent and diverse brand identities, all in their way distinctive and well designed.
The Channel 5 logo in that newspaper ad looks like something from an early 90s Berlusconi Mediaset channel... Hideous.

There is, it's very fine in that scan but it is there. This is a logo I suspect has been designed by a print designer because it's going to be very hard to make work on screen.
I hope they keep the red look on screen. The more I see it the more i think it's not that bad. I do however prefer the current FIVE design they have. There is also a b&w official version of it too.
Demand Five has today disappeared from BT Vision On Demand, without any warning.
According to the Virgin Media website, it's no longer available on their On Demand service either.
I can only assume this is due to cost-cutting measures being brought in by the new owners.
Could this just be technical problems? It has never been available via Virgin but in the past few days some people of Digital Spy have reported that it has started to appear
Demand Five joined BT Vision on 7th October 2008, so it looks like the contract wasn't renewed.
Demand Five has appeared on my Virgin box in the catch up section. Think it appeared today as I don't remember seeing Channel 5 shows there yesterday when looking through the menus.
