I'm hoping that they're still going to use the same practice of having 'CHANNEL' in print and leaving the '5' alone on screen - although, if it's been seen on a van...

I thought I saw somewhere that the rebrand wasn't due until January 2011. Can anyone confirm if an exact date for the official change from "Five" back to "Channel 5" has been given?

Silly question, but if they're using that logo in the press to promote programmes tonight, are we expecting the logo to change on screen some time today?

Watching that video gives me an air of real excitement that change is on its way. I do feel that they could have tried a little better with the logo.
This is an article I put up a few weeks ago http://www.atvnewsnetwork.co.uk/today/index.php/atv-today/4176-saucy-look-for-channel-5 I haven't heard anything different as of yet.

Poorly created logo, that probably took a couple of seconds to make. As well as getting rid of an already great look. Probably one of the only logos in the world to have the word 'channel' along with a number.
I also find it funny how they are all standing infront of the logo, thus blocking it, obscuring what they are promoting.

Agreed. It would have received a 1-star rating in the mocks forum without a doubt.
Apparently Richard Desmond designed it himself in Powerpoint.
Probably.

The new logo seems distinctly placeholder-y, more the new upper management getting their stamp on it before overhauling the whole thing than "this is entirely our new logo!".
Is pretty atrocious for sure but given what bright minds run the operation, we really shouldn't be surprised. Regretful yes, surprised no.

Yes, it's obviously been designed by someone from management who doesn't have any experience in either design or television.
There will be a graphic designer somewhere tearing their hair out trying to get it to work on screen
