They said their in-house team were making updated versions of the original idents.

So according to posts on Digital Spy all male continuity announcers are being axed (cue the lawsuits), with Glen Allen at least confirming he's been let go.

It looks as though someone's got a hold of those tacky "Top 5 on Channel Five" inserts doing the rounds in the Desmond publications and decided to do them properly. They're now presented in the style of a C5 trail endboard and use the current Five font.

There's also yet another "CHANNEL Five" logo mock up, a slight improvement on the last effort but then that's not saying much.

It doesn't say much for a channel if they offer 'Live from Studio Five' as one of their best 5 servings of the day! Confused

It pisses me off when they make Fiver and Five USA a priority in the main TV guide as opposed to the digital channels when there's never anything spectacular on.

I saw what I assume is the new Channel 5 logo today. It's very prominently on Northern & Shell's vans, I saw one as I walked past the Blue Lubyanka this afternoon. Unfortunately, however, I could switch my mobile phone camera on quick enough!

It's a coloured (orange) circle like the current logo but with the word 'Channel' across the top and the numeral '5' taking up the other two thirds of the circle. The font was fairly ordinary, and the 5 slightly slanted.

Was it like the logo above in the article but in a orange circle?

Oh for chicken's sake.

IT WAS LIKE THE CURRENT LOGO BUT WITH THE NUMERAL FIVE. HENCE IT WASN'T THE WORD FIVE.

I swear some of the members on here were the results of genetic experiments in the early 90s.

I imagine, based on the description, it looked something like this:

I've seen the same logo Inspector Sands refers to. Surely it can't be the new 5 logo? Looks like it's been done in a rush.

That's not far off, a bit less of a slant on the 5 but apart from that pretty much what I remember... damn my cameraphone

I reckon your reconstruction took longer to design though Laughing
