Is it possible that Live From Studio Five might be going to some sort of 'best-of' pre-recorded series as it is the summer? Unless they've realised going head to head with the One Show is a daft idea?

Also ginofish, don't be sorry for asking a legitimate question on here, new posters shouldn't be expected to know the technical terms without asking, regardless of how over-enthusiastic they are with posting on here.

Ok thanks Very Happy
I reckon live from studio five may even do what Richard and Judy did and this morning does have one show a week were they show the best parts from that week or it could be precorded or they could have a feature from another studio/ outside torwards the end of the show .

Wouldn't a "Best Bits" of LfSF be rather short though? Wink

I think the point is that Channel 5/five need Live from Studio Five to hit their PSB news provision requirements don't they? If they ditched the news content to allow it to be sponsored they would need to make up the news content somewhere else - and I think they have to schedule at least some of their news during peak don't they?

Live From Studio Five replaced Five News at 7 and the longer lunchtime and weekend bulletins (plus possibly the 3pm-ish update). The 7pm bulletin is returning so the remaining half of LFSF must be the replacement for the non-weekday peak time news they cut back on

I suppose then they could get away with reinstating the simulcast of the first hour of Sunrise on weekends and ditch LFSF completely

Does the reinstatement of 'Five News at 7' not at least partially fulfill that requirement?

More than fulfils it IMO - can't really see how OFCOM could object to LFSF being ditched if the 30 minute bulletin is reinstated.

I think the weekend and lunchtime cutbacks were more due to cost than LFSF now satisfying the PSB element - which it clearly doesn't.

Flicking through the trashy mags I noticed an advert for five in 'Closer', except it said channel five. It was the current logo but with 'channel' written above it.

any photos?

Think the mixture of Five and Channel Five on the ads is purely down to which ones were recorded before it was sold and which ones were done afterwards....sure in a week or two they will all be Channel Five...wonder when we will see that logo on screen....think the dog would look even worse with a little channel written above it.

The 'new' logo is clearly a cheap way of maintaining current idents by just slapping the Channel over it.

They could at least make the word Channel the same length and in the same font as the word Five, so it doesn't look as if it's been quickly done in paint.

I was thinking they should align in to the left of the 'five' or maybe even the right. The DOG might look okay with 'channel' added to it in HD, as okay as DOGs can look anyway, but it probably won't look so nice in SD.

That isn't an official logo, it's just a mock-up to show what the logo looked like in the print ad.
