Ok thanks
I reckon live from studio five may even do what Richard and Judy did and this morning does have one show a week were they show the best parts from that week or it could be precorded or they could have a feature from another studio/ outside torwards the end of the show .
Is it possible that Live From Studio Five might be going to some sort of 'best-of' pre-recorded series as it is the summer? Unless they've realised going head to head with the One Show is a daft idea?
Also ginofish, don't be sorry for asking a legitimate question on here, new posters shouldn't be expected to know the technical terms without asking, regardless of how over-enthusiastic they are with posting on here.

Probably not possible as Desmond won't be able to advertise his papers on the channel due to EU competition rules.
Would just need OK to "pay" for it to get around that though surely?
Wouldn't be surprised to see a return of the OK!TV brand replacing Live from Studio 5. Seems an obvious move and might bot be too bad providing they don't get fiona to host it again!

Well Live From Studio Five was a failure in the ratings anyway. They can move it to 4am and noone will notice. Ofcom wouldn't care as they still have a news show at 7pm

Sponsoring a news programme isn't allowed either.

Flicking through the trashy mags I noticed an advert for five in 'Closer', except it said channel five. It was the current logo but with 'channel' written above it.

Even with the benefit of a 15 minute delay for LfSF, wouldn't it be quite a rush to move the news set into place, remove the desk and put that odd sofa/chaise longue and plasma screen into position?
Mind you, I'd prefer they did that, rather than do a 15 minute bulletin from the CSO area.
Isn't one just in front of the other. Does Live from Studio Five have any viewer interaction (phone calls etc.) or could it take advantage of the OFCOM definition of live and be broadcast on a 15-minute delay?

I think the point is that Channel 5/five need Live from Studio Five to hit their PSB news provision requirements don't they? If they ditched the news content to allow it to be sponsored they would need to make up the news content somewhere else - and I think they have to schedule at least some of their news during peak don't they?

Wouldn't take much to remove the news content from the programme though would it?
