'Five life' to be rebranded 'Fiver'

Christ! That's probably the worst tv pres I've ever seen. It's somewhat ironic that it's being used to plug what looks to be a crap programme.

I don't know what's going through the minds of the execs who approved this or who decided to remarket Five Life in the first place. Clearly, it isn't much.

Possibly the tenner they were getting paid for every second they were thinking about the new name.

The name certainly suits the channel then, cheap as chips.

Cheaper than the chips where I live, the price is astronomical

That trailer could definately be better, but I don't think it is awful. It has a certain 'charm' about it. It shouldn't keep beeping over the top though.

EDIT: And "Fiver" is much better than "Five Life"!

It's rather odd, all the trilers on five life seem to be for new series starting on fiver, none for anything else (i.e. continuing series on five life), they're just all "comming soon" trailers.

Hideous presentation from FIVER then, which is a great shame as it's replacing a really great set of idents etc. on Five Life, which I've always thought has worked well and looked great.

Hmm, the caption-blinky-videprinter thing (we're going to have to choose a name for it) has potential to be a really good idea, but in those examples it doesn't quite work.

The "PROMO" flash reminds me of the "PUB" stings on the French channels... I wonder if Fiver will carry "ADVERTS" stings, too?

Well I've always found them dull. Looks to me like they're trying to ditch their lame, uninspiring image for something a bit more in line with the likes of ITV2 and Sky One. Makes perfect sense to me what they're doing.

Launch date, April 28th.

Someone on Digital Spy (yes, I know) has said Five will relaunch everything, including US and the main channel at the end of this month. Rubbish?
