You could argue that it's unconnected since the rebrand has been in the pipeline for months. But if Lighting wanted to make a point she could have deliberately saved her resignation for the week of the relaunch (although that's not very career enhancing in a close knit professional community).
Personally, I think the FIVER rebrand looks awful. It still looks like a third-rate digital channel.
