Yuck.

What does Fiver even mean (if anything)?

I'm not so keen on this look to be honest. The only thing good about this relaunch is that 8 Simple Rules is being shown again. I've not watched it for about a year.

Nothing special at 6am btw, just a typical announcement. I would have recorded it, but my capture card was playing up.

And here's the video of the start of fiver:

Nothing overly special, just a trailer, then the first ident...

Oh, and the DOG for anyone who's interested:

The second ident is like a flashback to the ITV2 flip:side idents.

Am I odd, because I like this? Confused

Anyone who picks up a Metro this morning will be inundated by Fiver adverts all the way through.

Then flick to the digital / satellite listings....no sign of it!

I'm indifferent to it. The louder look will probably lead to more viewers, although I doubt I will be one of them. One thing I really dislike is the font used on the trails, it's hideous.

At least the DOG is a sensible size and colour, finally bucking the current trend for huge, full colour DOGs.

I like it! It's different, and certainly not horrible. It's a lot more interesting than the previous wishy-washy look. The tiny DOG is a massive plus!

Love the music to that ident - The Message by Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five I'm not mistaken.

TVF Trivia Question : What else might you associate that music with in classic TV?

I like the idents, the presentation and the smaller DOG of Fiver, it gives the channel more of an appeal unlike Five Life. If Five are trying to turn of Fiver into their equivalent of ITV2 or E4 then I think it has worked but it would benefit having new US dramas aside from Dirt and maybe spin-off shows.

The name looks bloody awful on the Sky EPG, seeing FIVER flash up when scrolling through the channels.
