From Broadcast:
Five will attempt to gauge the public's reaction to the Spice Girls' reunion in a one-off documentary from Twofour,
The Spice Girls on Trial
.
The 60-minute show will feature interviews with important figures in the group's past including former manager, Chris Herbert. The show is timed to coincide with the UK leg of their comeback tour in December this year.
There will also be contributions from a range of commentators including Germaine Greer and Peaches Geldof who will look at the Spice Girls' contribution to popular culture and ask how much impact their music and personalities had on the world.
The programme will culminate in a live viewers' vote in which they will give their verdict on the Spice Girls phenomenon and the recent reinvention.
Questions answered will include "Was there any substance to girl power or was it just marketing froth?" and "Is the comeback tour a welcome return or a chance for [The Spice Girls] to cash in on the pop group revival trend?".
The show was commissioned by Five head of factual entertainment Steven Gowans and will air later this year on Five and Five Life.
Joe Houlihan will executive produce for Twofour with Lucy Reese producing and directing.

Sounds like fun! Wonder if Twofour will produce any of the following:
Take That on Trial
Boyzone on Trial
East 17 on Trial (whatever happened to their 'comeback'?)
