Five is understood to be planning a channel revamp next year, when Australian soap Neighbours joins the channel.
According to Broadcast, the channel is looking at March or April for the revamp, which will include new branding and a relaunched Five website, with an extended online video-on-demand service.
If they had any sense they will move Home & Away to 5pm, and have Neighbours following on from 5.30pm then maybe at least half of the 3m viewers who watch on BBC1 will move across to five, and then five can use Neighbours as a platform to advertise their shows to those who have never really bothered with five before.
I doubt the logo will change, I personally don't see any reason to change it other than for the sake of it.
I expect it'll just be a dumping of the "emotions" identa and maybe, finally, some new end caps for the trailers. By Spring the idents will have been around for just over 2 years. Don't think they've had a set of idents that have lasted much more than 2 years so it was kind of expected.
Never understood the dislike towards five's logo, the circled numeral wasn't as good I feel. Hope the logo doesn't go, nobody else is using ultracool lowercase Helvetica Bold right now!
Personally I don't want the 'five' logo to be changed, it's a very simple but effective logo which can be used in many different situations especially special themed promos.
five's logo is good, simple, but nice looking. People just get teary eyed when they think of the number logo, which, as I said before, is in my opinion not as good a logo as the current one. I know nobody will change their mind about it, I found that out last time!

Apparently Home and Away is staying where it is and Neighbours will go at 6.30pm?
The current logo is simple and effective. In fact on the rare occasions I watch five I'm always impressed by their presentation. The promos are some of the best on TV and the junctions flow really well. Hope they keep up the high standards
