Five has confirmed details of it's new channels, with Five US launching on Sunday 15th October, with Five Life following the next day.

The big question I've not seen answered is will the two new channels be FTA, FTV, or 'Subs Only' on D-Sat ?

Yes I can imagine you made up the word "Ity".

As for the rest of your post - well its bo!!ox. Who cares about that? All the average TV viewer cares about is getting more choice of what to watch - and with the limited capacity available on DTT it's nice to have two new channels launching that aren't Quiz/Shopping themed and that are FTA.

My main disappointment is that because of the ****ers TV channels 11pm onwards that FiveUS isn't taking more American sport. Maybe showing a re-run in the daytime or at least showing TWIB.

I'm just pointing out that it is the end of an era.

Looks like we'll be seeing promotions and advertising for the new channels next week, and maybe an indication of the style or presentation...

Five is to launch what it claims will be the biggest campaign for a digital launch in UK history, when a £4m marketing blitz starts next week to back the arrival of Five US and Five Life.

Don't get your hopes up on the presentation:

Rolling Eyes Whats the confusion? Youve answered your own question in the same post.

And it doesnt state freeview only as it also says "Channel listings for digital satellite and cable viewers will update automatically." which obviously implies the channels will be on those two platforms as well.

Have you even read the website properly or is that too much to ask?

If you use Freeview you may need to re-scan for Five US and Five Life on your digital box"

The channels WILL be on freeview and NOT part of top-up. Really, is it that difficult to understand?

Plus there's the big red Freeview logo on both sites.

I'm sure "Freeview" didn't used to be this thick!

Are Sky doing their usual trick of trying to screw up a channel launch - and if so it's time something was done about it!

Any news of the channel numbers yet?
