Put The Telly On
The Ellen DeGeneres Show is brilliant. Especially when she randomly dances around the audience at the beginning of the show.

I like the five life logo, but thy are pretty unimaginative.
EDIT:
I'm going to put them on wikipedia if you don't mind, since they are under fair use.

EDIT EDIT:
Couldn't get the images to link up correctly, but here they are:

I'll do it for you.

Tip: When linking things on Wikipedia, look elsewhere at how it has been done with other articles.

will these two new channels be on freeview?

Oh dear.....

Yes they will. That is why Top Up TV will have to change their service arrangements as Five US and Five Life will be taking back the channel space they have leant to TUTV.

Pay attention dear boy.

I'm rather disappointed by the logos, can't say I was expecting anything Brilliant, I can't make any further judgement with seeing the On Air Presentation.

I think there is an element of sadness, and joy.

Ity is the last 'regulator empowered' (I made that word up B.T.W.!), terestrial channel, to be a stand-alone-channel; and not only the last to not take advantage of their digital rights, also the last to take up their digital rights. What I mean by a 'regulator empowered' channel, is one that's creation, was that of a regulator, not by a person/company applying to take a digital slot. It is the end of an era. An era that has lasted since the beginning of television. Savour the last moments everybody! 'Enjoy' it (in a way that only a presentation obsessed person can!) it, and the last moments of a 'famililess' terrestrial channel. Alsio of the last regulator-o9pened, terrestrial channel to launch.

Bye fellow television fanatics!

Yes I can imagine you made up the word "Ity".

As for the rest of your post - well its bo!!ox. Who cares about that? All the average TV viewer cares about is getting more choice of what to watch - and with the limited capacity available on DTT it's nice to have two new channels launching that aren't Quiz/Shopping themed and that are FTA.

My main disappointment is that because of the W@nkers TV channels 11pm onwards that FiveUS isn't taking more American sport. Maybe showing a re-run in the daytime or at least showing TWIB.

Here's a point that I haven't seen anybody else bring up.

If they are launching two new channels under the five name, what will they do with the current five idents. Surely there's something wrong not using the five brand in their main channel idents

If they don't see it as wrong now, I doubt they will when the channels launch, but I expect they'll think about it in the not to distant future. Five rebrand quite often anyhow!

(And isn't one of their idents "life"?)

A bit about Five US continuity on Digital Spy:

Russell Kane named "face" of Five US
Wednesday, August 30 2006, 00:01 BST - by Neil Wilkes

EDINBURGH -- Stand-up comedian Russell Kane has been named as "the face" of Five's new digital channel Five US.

Kane will head out on the road to film segments for the channel - including interviews with programme-makers and behind-the-scenes reports from Five US shows such as Conviction, Vanished, Shark and CSI.

"He will undertake a voyage to discover America afresh and illuminate what makes its people tick," said Nol Davis, head of Five's creative services. "This breakout from the normal confines of continuity will allow Five US viewers to travel with us on a genuine road trip across the USA.”

Five Us launches on Sunday, October 15.

P.S. This "Too many connections" thing getting really annoying now! Sort it out please!
