Actually, looking at it, it was more interesting what happened on five itself at 8, as it went over to join five life for the lauch, we broke away from "life" (the ident) and "ran" with the continuity anouncer "over to the new channel".

Well that was a rather dull start! Sort of matches the programmes shown this evening really.

The only thing I will be interested in is Happy Days on fiveUS

I can't wait for Happy Days, although Sky+ will be coming into use. I wish they would repeat the double episodes later on!!!!! I wonder if they show the 2 spin-off shows as well - Mork & Mindy, Joannie and Chachi (forgive me for my spellings!)

The Stephen King strand on Mondays shows some promise -- yes I know it's yet another Hammer House Of Horror/Twilight Zone/Tales Of The Unexpected clone but you never know, could be decent.

I for one have been a little disappointed by 5US's initial schedule -- wall to wall CSI by the looks of things, yawn.

Hasn't Happy Days (and possibly Mork & Mindy) been shown on Paramount 2 in the recent past?

I have a small complaint with their first programme, you might think it's picky, but . . .:

They kept comparing the 'Priory' hospitals with expensive hotels. Though, in my opinion, they are entirely incomparable.

From what I heard they sound a damn sight better than a lot of hospitals.

If anyone watched 'Dispatches: The Mental Health Scandal', then a room with an en-suite bathroom is much better than a room with urine, that one lady was forced to go in, and I think she was being forced to their, being detained.

So I think that it is worth paying that much for better treatment.

They have but I kept missing the few couple of series and the last couple of series, especially at w/ends due to Football!!!!!!! - although I did used to watch it on P2 when it was on between 11pm and midnight - a few months ago. Still best US sitcom, IMHO, ever made - f/b cheers and then Frasier.

Looking at Five US's schedule i'm kinda looking forward to it. Usually consisting of double Joey, double Happy Days and double Pimp My Ride. Followed by some american sports thing (NFL, NBA etc) and then a mix of CSI and films, it seems okay for a channel that's on Freeview.

Will there be NHL coverage on Five US?

Does anyone have a clip of this "double continuity" on Five Life?

Media Guardian: Five Life launch barely registers
A much worse launch than any of the BBC, ITV or Channel 4's digital channels, they only managed a 0.2% share
