Five fined £300,000 over 'Brainteaser'

Ofcom have imposed a whopping £300,000 fine over gameshow 'Brainteaser'.

Pitty it was five and not something line Big game TV or quiz call who are even worse.

Well, that's half of Five's budget gone then!


And some much needed cash for the Treasury now the VAT revenue from premium competition lines is drying up!

No they aren't. Five (or at least Endermol) mislead viewers. They didn't make a mistake, they choose to lie to viewers and callers.

Big Game TV and Quiz Call have never done this as far as I know.

Probably not directly, considering that by the time the fine has been paid he's probably going to have moved next door.

Slightly o/t, but what happened to the GMTV refunds which were promised? It's been over 2 months since they said they'd shortly make an announcement on how they'd give all the money back to the contestants who were defrauded. But there's been nothing since then. I hope they don't think that by letting the matter go cold for long enough, people will simply forget all about it.
